Director of the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC, Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia) since November 2012, Eduard Bertran holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (UB) and a PhD in Audiovisual Communication (UAB). Since 1986, he has been a lecturer at the IEFC and between 1994 and 2018 he was an adjunct lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Over these years, he has also taught on master’s degree and postgraduate courses at the UAB and the University of Girona (UdG), and he was director of the master’s degree in Photo Editing at the UAB.
He has participated in round tables, inspections of portfolios, talks and juries of competitions and exhibition committees in: Barcelona, Girona, Lloret de Mar, Torroella de Montgrí, Gijón, Barbastro, Huesca, Madrid and Lima.
Founding member of Migracom. Participates as a researcher in projects on how the media addresses immigration, funded by the Catalan government, the Spanish government, Barcelona Provincial Council and the Brazilian government. As a member of Migracom, he participates in conferences and round tables in: Barcelona, Girona, Reus, Madrid and Granada.
His research has been published in Quaderns del Consell de l’Audiovisual de Catalunya, the journal Temps d’Educació and publications of the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security..
Member of the Catalan government’s Promotion Committee of the National Photography Plan.

Josep Gol was a photojournalist during the years of the Spanish transition and formed part of the Cambio 16, a weekly magazine committed to fighting for democratic and social values.
He supports copyright, freedom of expression and employment regulation for press photographers: a life committed to gaining recognition of the values of the profession in all social spheres.
Josep Gol disagreed with the political evolution of the country and focused on dissemination and training in photojournalism. In 1986, he organised the exhibition Visió fotogràfica d’una època, 1936-1986(Photographic vision of an era, 1936–1986), in the Sala Arcs of the Caixa Foundation, Barcelona. From 1990 to 1992 he was director and coordinator of the Francesc Català-Roca Photography Space and between 1987 and 1992 he was president of the Catalan Association of Press Photographers. During this period, he had various individual exhibitions and participated in other collective exhibitions.
His subsequent projects were related to the world of performances.

Journalist and photographer, Edu Ponces began his professional career in Latin America where he was head of photography at El Faro (El Salvador), where his reports focused on migration and social violence.

He has worked for publications such as El País, Revista 5W, CNN en español or Miami HeraldHe has received the Ortega y Gasset Prize for Journalism, a grant from the National Geographic Society, Picture of the Year International (POYi), and the Prize for the Best Photography Book from POYLatam, among others. He teaches at the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC, Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia) and on the master’s degree in Photojournalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He is a founding member of RUIDO Photo.
